“The Dog Strikes Back: 2012 Volkswagen “- Meaning the Process

I think I like the idea of using the picture of the dog to talk about “Volkswagen“. I didn’t know what the ad is all about until the car clearly shows up in the middle of the commercial. However, I paid my full attention to it because of the dog and its whole process to lose weight. Then, when I heard the message “Back and better than never”, I immediately linked that whole process to “Volkswagen”. I think it’s a great way to pull attention from audience. The interesting thing is the commercial placed within another commercial, which I didn’t realize from the first time watching it. However, I think it would be fine without the second part, which makes a lot of confusing for audience.
